Trust & Safety

How we protect jobseekers, employers and the platform — verification, moderation, red flags to watch for, emergency contacts, and your rights.

Effective from [[EFFECTIVE DATE]] Version 1.0 Initial launch
Our promise to you

Five things we commit to — publicly, and in writing.

Filipino overseas workers are one of the most-targeted groups in global recruitment fraud. Illegal recruiters, ghost employers, WhatsApp scams, contract substitution, passport confiscation — these are documented patterns, not rare events. FindCV was built to make them harder.

No placement fees
We will never charge you — the jobseeker — a placement fee. Not to sign up, not to be featured, not to secure a job.
Every employer is checked
Before a job post reaches candidates — the employer must exist as a real business or verifiable household.
Bad actors banned
Confirmed offenders are removed and permanently banned, and referred to DMW and destination-country authorities.
Your data is safe
We tell you exactly what we do with it — and give you full control — in our Privacy Policy.
1-day report response
We investigate reports within one business day. Every report gets a response — no exceptions.
Where our current controls are still being rolled out we say so. Where our promises depend on a Licensed Partner Agency doing their job — for example, DMW paperwork on a new deployment — we say that too.

Report a concern

FindCV — the recruitment marketplace connecting Filipino talent with global employers.

This page is the plain-English companion to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. It explains how we verify who you're dealing with, how we moderate the marketplace, what we prohibit, what to watch for as a jobseeker or employer, and where to turn if something goes wrong. Fields shown in [[BRACKETS]] are placeholders that will be filled at publication.

1. How we verify employers

1.1 Business employers (companies, agencies, organisations)

At sign-up, we ask for:

At launch, employer accounts receive a verified tick automatically. A document-upload verification flow — where you submit your trade licence and tax ID for our team to check against the public register — is being rolled out post-launch. Once deployed, business employers who complete document verification will show a stronger "Verified employer" badge, and candidates will be able to filter by it.

1.2 Household / individual employers

Individual employers hiring domestic staff (nannies, drivers, housekeepers, caregivers, cooks) provide their government ID and household address. This is a lighter check than the business flow, appropriate for individuals rather than companies.

1.3 Licensed Partner Agencies

FindCV does not deploy workers ourselves. When a new deployment from the Philippines runs, a licensed Philippine Recruitment Agency (PRA) handles the actual hiring — contract processing, medical, government exit clearance, visa. When an in-country hire runs (for example a domestic worker transfer inside the UAE), a licensed Tadbeer centre or equivalent local agency does the paperwork.

Every Licensed Partner Agency is required to demonstrate a valid, current licence in its jurisdiction before we route deployment leads to it. We check the public regulator's licensed-agency register — for the Philippines that is dmw.gov.ph — before onboarding a partner and periodically thereafter.

2. How we verify jobseekers

2.1 Basic identity

Every jobseeker registers with an email, and can sign in with Google Single Sign-On to reduce the risk of impersonation. We require a real name, contact number and country of residence.

2.2 Verified badge (optional, $9.99)

Jobseekers can choose to pay a one-time US$ 9.99 verification fee. In return our team:

Verified profiles get a badge, priority in employer searches, direct messaging with employers, multiple CV uploads, and profile insights. Verification is optional. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies — see the Contact form if you are not satisfied.

We do not treat non-verified jobseekers as suspicious. Verification is a signal, not a gate.

3. How we moderate job posts

4. What we prohibit

The following conduct results in immediate removal and a permanent ban from the Platform. It is also a breach of our Terms and Conditions Section 10 (Acceptable Use), which is the enforceable version of this list.

5. Red flags for jobseekers

Even with everything above in place, no platform is foolproof. Watch out for these on FindCV, and on any other job platform.

If any of these happen, stop and report

The 8 patterns below are the ones we see most often in OFW recruitment fraud. If you spot any of them on FindCV — or anywhere else — treat it as a warning.

1
You are asked to pay anything before signing a contract. Placement, reservation, medical, or "visa guarantee" fees are almost always illegal. If someone asks, stop and report.
2
The recruiter only talks on WhatsApp, Messenger, or Telegram and refuses a video call, a phone call to a landline, or a site visit. This is the #1 pattern for OFW recruitment scams.
3
The agency name is not on the DMW licensed list. Before you hand over documents to anyone claiming to be a licensed agency, check the official list at dmw.gov.ph.
4
The salary sounds too high for the role — for example, ₱80,000/month for entry-level domestic work in the UAE.
5
You are asked to travel on a tourist visa and "sort out the paperwork on arrival." This is illegal under Philippine law.
6
The contract you signed in the Philippines is different from the one you are handed on arrival. Refuse to sign the new one and contact the Philippine embassy immediately.
7
You are asked to hand over your passport to your employer or agent for "safekeeping." Passport confiscation is illegal in most destination countries.
8
Payment is by GCash or personal bank transfer to an individual, with no BIR-registered official receipt.
If any of these happen on FindCV, report it immediately — see Section 7. If you are already outside the Philippines and in immediate danger, contact the emergency numbers in Section 10 first, then FindCV.

6. Red flags for employers

If you are hiring on FindCV, watch out for these on the candidate side.

Signals a candidate isn't who they claim to be

Fraud runs in both directions. The 7 patterns below are the ones we most often see from candidates or third parties impersonating candidates.

1
The candidate's ID photo doesn't match their profile photo or their live selfie.
2
They ask you to pay a "processing fee" to a third party claiming to be their agent. Legitimate jobseekers pay their own DMW clearances through the Licensed Partner Agency.
3
Their work history has unexplained gaps or listed employers we can't verify.
4
They insist on communicating only outside FindCV before you have made a genuine offer.
5
Their references don't answer or use free-email addresses that match the candidate's own.
6
They pressure you to skip the licensed PRA / Tadbeer channel and deploy directly on a tourist visa. This is illegal for both sides.
7
The candidate claims to be a Licensed Partner Agency's representative rather than an individual. Legitimate agency representatives are onboarded separately.
Report any of the above through the Contact form with "Trust & Safety" as the reason.

7. Report a concern

You do not have to be a FindCV account holder to report. Anonymous reports are welcome.

If you are in immediate danger, contact the emergency numbers in Section 10 first, then FindCV.

8. What happens after you report

We commit publicly to the following response times and enforcement pattern:

1
Acknowledged within 1 business day

You will receive confirmation your report has been received and is queued for review — every report, no exceptions.

2
Investigated within 5 business days

Standard reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team within five working days. Complex cases may take longer — you'll be told if so.

3
Immediate action for serious cases

Suspension of the reported account pending review — for reports involving passport-holding, physical safety, contract substitution on arrival, or trafficking indicators.

4
Permanent ban for confirmed bad actors

Business details are added to our internal blocklist to prevent re-registration — company numbers, individual IDs, payment fingerprints.

5
Referral to authorities

Where the conduct appears to violate Philippine law or the destination country's labour code — and with your consent — we refer the case to DMW, the Philippine embassy, or the destination-country labour authority.

6
Feedback to you — no retaliation

Every report gets an outcome message (action taken, no action + reason, or referred to authorities). Jobseekers who report an employer cannot be penalised, hidden from search, or downgraded on the platform.

We do not promise refunds, deployment guarantees, or specific case outcomes. Those are not ours to give.

9. Your data

We handle your personal data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Filipino jobseekers also have rights under the Philippine Data Privacy Act 2012 (RA 10173).

For everything else, read our full Privacy Policy — Section 8 covers your rights in detail, and Section 5 covers international transfers.

10. Emergency contacts

You have rights under Philippine law and (usually) under the destination country's labour code. Below is a starting-point summary — for anything specific, ask a Migrant Workers Office (MWO) representative in your destination country on arrival, or contact FindCV via the Contact form.

Written contract You are entitled to a written contract in a language you understand, signed before you leave the Philippines.
No contract substitution Your contract must match the one shown to your employer. Contract substitution is illegal.
Hold your own passport In most destination countries, employer confiscation of your passport is illegal.
Contracted salary & rest days Underpayment, unauthorised deductions, or no-rest-day arrangements are actionable.
Safe living conditions You are entitled to safe accommodation and working conditions — physical safety is not negotiable.
Complain without retaliation You can seek help from the Philippine embassy or MWO — no employer or agent can lawfully punish you for reporting.
Access your data on FindCV You can ask for corrections or deletion at any time. See our Privacy Policy Section 8.

12. Community standards

The community standards below apply to all Users. They are enforced through the Terms and Conditions Section 10 (Acceptable Use) — this section is the public-facing statement of what we expect.

13. Transparency

Annual Trust & Safety report — starting one year after launch

We will publish an annual Trust & Safety report starting one year after launch. It will include:

  • Total reports received, broken out by category — fee demands, ghost employers, passport-holding, contract substitution, harassment, other.
  • Actions taken — accounts banned, posts removed, cases referred to authorities.
  • Median response time.
  • What we changed based on what we learned.

Until we have data to publish, we will not publish placeholders.

14. External resources

Government and NGO resources jobseekers and employers can use directly.

15. Changes to this page

We may update this Trust & Safety page as the platform evolves and as we learn from what we see. Where changes are material we will note the update at the top of the page and — for account holders — send an email at the address you registered.
